1.) Coronavirus (COVID-19):
a.) Wait until one hour or more since patient left before cleaning room. Do last for the night.
b.) Airborne and contact precaution
c.) Use PPE booties, bunny suit, gloves, yellow mask (N95 or higher)
d.) Wipe everything with bleach
e.) Remove all linen and double bag
f.) ALL trash is Bio-Hazard
g.) Wash hands with soap and water
h.) Report cleaning was completed in log book and notify supervisor. Supervisor will leave in end-of-shift report. Remove signage of room needing attention.
2.) MRSA:
a.) Contact precaution
b.) Use PPE gown and gloves
c.) Wipe with bleach/hospital grade disinfectant. Bodily fluids with bleach. Curtain and walls only if visible soil
d.) Report cleaning was performed, log and remove signage of room needing attention
3.) C-Diff and Norovirus:
a.) Enteric precaution
b.) Use PPE gown and gloves
c.) Wipe with bleach. Curtain and walls only if visible soil
d.) Wash hands with soap and water. Alcohol foam does not work on these pathogens
e.) Report cleaning was performed, log and remove signage of room needing attention
4.) Scabies & Lice:
a.) Contact precaution
